Windows Server 2008R2 – mmc cannot open the file c:\windows\system32\servermanager.msc

If you have a problem with mmc cannot open the file like the screenshot above, you can do the following task :

You can try go to this path “C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft” on a Windows 2008 R2 server, deleting or rename MMC folder and check the result. I hope this solved your problem 🙂

    perfect! could not run task scheduler from start menu or command line, only by adding plugin from mmc console. renamed MMC folder and problem solved.

    server manager open up and closes immediately in windows server 2008 R2 SP1 , any solution for this
